Study Day 1: SUCCESS! (5th July 2021)

I am writing this at 9:33 pm and I am quite surprised that I am done with my work for today! I followed the "8 hours rule" and it was pretty successful in my opinion. I managed to wake up at 6:00 am but stayed in bed and scrolled through social media for about 30 minutes before finally getting up, making me bed and switching on my laptop.

I started my day by planning it out and today I had to finish:

  • Chapter 9 of Psychological Tests and Measures;

  • Chapter 9 of Cognitive Psychology;

  • Lecture 9 of Abnormal Psychology;

  • Lecture 5 of Developmental Psychology;

  • and finally Lecture 4b of Quantitative Methods 2.

I searched up all my lectures with their notes and decided to start with Psychological Tests and Measures before I went downstairs to exercise and bathe. I managed to finish everything by 7:15 am and then I went down and spent a few minutes with my dog, because like me, he needs attention :) I then took a few hours till 9 am to exercise, bathe and eat breakfast.

At 9 am, I published yesterday's blog and I started with Quantitative Methods 2. To be honest with everyone, I still didn't finish the lecture after an hour and a half because I had to keep rewinding the theory part for One Way ANOVA. At one point I was ready to give up because like why has god abandoned me, I'm in absolute agony. That's when I decided to just stop and try again later when my mind was more calm and collected. After that I started to do Abnormal Psychology, one of my favorite subjects and I enjoyed it very much because today I learned about neurological disorders.

At this point, it was already lunch time and I decided to rest my eyes because I had been staring at the screen for so long. Funny how I can watch all the episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine back to back for hours at a time but I can't seem to handle looking at statistics 🙄. After I had lunch, I continued with Cognitive Psychology. Some how, don't ask me how, I managed to completely study all of the chapters for Cognitive Psych from 2 pm to about 3:30 pm. Not gonna lie, the lecture notes are pretty short, but at the same time, I think having class so early every Friday morning nailed the information in my head long ago. At this point, I was just recalling stuff.

At 3:30 pm, I decided to tackle Quantitative Methods 2 again. I finally focused most of my energy onto the lecture and SPSS and I manage to finish the lecture in 30 minutes. It felt great to understand something that could not get into my head a while back. Even my notes didn't look that awful. I feel like I can do this if I keep it up this way for a while, maybe even adopt these healthier methods next semester too, instead of doing everything so last minute.

I rested and of course I had to watch today's Sidemen Sunday. I had an early dinner and had a meeting to settle one of my last assignments at 6:30 pm. The meeting ended at 8:10 pm and I continued with my last subject which was Developmental Psychology. Again, this lecture was not so hard so I studied it up quite quickly. So yea, I think my exam study week would go on pretty good if I managed to keep my effort up like this.
