Exam Week: Study Prep (4th July 2021)

I hate the start of exam week, everyone gets serious, my mom keeps asking me whether I am studying and I get mad nervous. It's not only the fact that this semester is a little stinky but it's also because the lecturer’s made it their life's work to make all of our exams extra hard. Oh, and, they made sure they told us that multiple times. Now I’m not gonna shade my lecturers, because I am already an oversized cow in university and I should not be questioning their judgements, but they could at least sugar coat it, just a little.

It is however a chance to study harder so that I would be less nervous and more sure when I look at the questions. Sadly, I just feel like the ending of BBC’s Merlin, where (*SPOILER*) Arthur dies and all of Merlin’s work of keeping the big oaf safe went to shit (*END OF SPOILER*). I have been told that if I did go into this with a bright prospect, it would be all well in the end, but nothing around me is helping with that. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to make a study environment to get into the exam headspace. Well it was also an excuse for me not to watch 2 hour long recorded lectures back to back until my eyes burned out of their sockets.

I started today with cleaning up the files on my laptop because I’ve been neglecting it and the files just keep piling up, which is getting kinda sad, but in the end I gave up and I did not manage to finish doing that. So, mission fail, but we’ll get ‘em next time. I spent all of my afternoon vacuuming my room and changing my sheets so that everything would be fresh and ready for me to start my study week. I planned out my whole study week and I realized that I could manage fitting all the unwatched lectures PLUS the lectures that need *ahem* SPECIAL ATTENTION, because I am afraid of the lecturer’s marking techniques.

Last week, I spent most of my time doing 2 projects in one go so that I could hit the submission deadline without getting myself killed and this made me so freaking exhausted. This week I am going to take it slow and use the 8-8-8 rule that I found out from Rosie Lewis (I do not exactly know where the original idea is from but I got it from this influencer on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/r0sielewis/). It is basically the method of 8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of “free time” and 8 hours of studying. I am basically going to use the free time to finish up on some club stuff that I am working on and I am going to make sure that I get 8 hours of sleep so that my studying won’t be in vain.

The highlight of my day was probably when I got my Shopee products that I bought from the shop called Imoda.my. I got a few sticky notes, pastel gel pens and some vintage stickers and I’m glad that they all work perfectly well.

Here is the list of things I bought ( https://shopee.com.my/imoda.my ):

  • imoda 46Pcs Cute Animals Sticker Diary Journal Stationery Flakes Scrapbooking Decorative Stickers

  • imoda 120 Sheets Creative Memo Pad Sticky Note Colorful Label Sticker Bookmarks Notepad School Stationery Office Supplies (Variation: C)

  • imoda 80sheets Sticky Notes Wheel of Four Colors Series Kawaii Cute Memo Pad Diary Notepad School Stationery (Variation: D)

  • Imoda 5pcs/box Morandi Gel Pens Mixed Colors Student Stationery Supplies (Variation: D)

I ended my uneventful day with studying a chapter of Psychological Test and Measures. The real work begins tomorrow.
